Hi guys! Its been a few weeks since I last posted (sorry about that!) but I was traveling and had one of those trips where on the way back a flight was cancelled, then the next flight was delayed, again, and again, etc. I feel like it has taken me forever to catch up on things, but here I am and I have some beautiful lipsticks to share with you! The Alima Pure Velvet Lipsticks, which were released earlier this year.

Alima Pure Velvet Lipsticks Review

I was very excited when these came out because I am a huge fan of Alima Pure’s other products (mostly mineral eye shadows and face powders). I have these in four of the six colors: Lucy, Georgia, Stella, and Beatrice. The bullets are housed in heavy aluminum tubes that are recyclable and refillable with cartridges that will be sold separately (coming soon). I love the idea of a refillable lipstick. Less waste! Plus these feel so chic and luxurious to hold.

These are free of: parabens, artificial preservatives, sulfates, synthetic dyes, phthalates, dimethicone, petroleum, talc, bismuth oxychloride, or nanoparticles. Cruelty free. Made in the USA.

Alima Pure Velvet Lipstick Swatches

Lucy: The perfect everyday nude for fair skin. It has a pearly rose shimmery sheen in the tube but isn’t “sparkly” when on the lips.
Georgia: A vibrant fuchsia/raspberry. Has a very slight violet shimmer in the tube. One of my favorite berry shades!
Stella: Beautiful rich classic ruby red. No shimmer at all.
Beatrice: Deep merlot red that is not as dark as the bullet itself, but buildable to a dark berry/red. Works great using just a little as a stain, but if going to create a full lip with it I recommend using a lip brush to apply this one or using a liner to help it stay put.

They all have a very moisturizing formula that includes shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, sunflower seed oil, and more. They have a glossy sheen and glide on smooth almost like a balm. Lucy is just a little more matte despite it appearing the most shimmery in the tube. I also love the way they smell, slightly of cocoa butter and a very faint hint of vanilla.

These are $26 each which I feel is a good price for such a high quality natural product with a refillable tube. They also just redid their lip tints in similar looking tubes though I don’t think those ones are refillable. I tried their lip tints a long time ago before they had new packaging and I think they’ve redone the formula since too, so I’ll have to try those soon too!

Overall I would definitely recommend these lipsticks and Alima Pure as a brand! I hope they create more colors. I’d love to know if you’ve tried these lipsticks or other products from Alima Pure and what you love : ) xo – Naomi

Hello! How would you compare Stella to 100% Pure’s Poppy lipstick?

Hi! Alima Pure lipsticks are a little more matte than the 100% pure (though just as moisturizing). I haven’t tried 100% pure Poppy, so I can’t compare in person. But Stella is a cool-tone red and from what many of the reviews say about Poppy that one seems to be a warm-tone red.

  1. […] Alima Pure Velvet Lipstick in the new color Caroline – This just came out and I love the dusty plum rose color. They also came out with Louise, my new favorite everyday creamy nude/pink. I’m loving their new packaging. Also this smells very faintly of vanilla. Yum. I swatched both new shades on Instagram here. You can read my review of this formula and see other colors here. […]
