Tatcha released their newest product a few weeks ago, their Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen with broadspectrum SPF 35. They kindly sent me one to try out and though I’ve only tried it a few times so far, I just had to post about it sooner than later so that you guys can get yourself one before summer is over (they just released a travel size too). This is one of my favorite sunscreens for my face EVER. It is described on the box as “weightless” and it really is. I couldn’t believe how it felt like I wasn’t even wearing sunscreen the first time I tried it. I wish I’d had something like this when I was younger and foolish enough to go without sunscreen because I wanted to “tan” (which for me always turned into a burn) or because I couldn’t find a sunscreen that didn’t feel gross on my face. Protect your face no matter what age you are! It is so important.

This sunscreen is on the expensive side ($68), but since this is meant just for your face it will last longer than you think. Plus, if you’re going to splurge, in my opinion do so on something that will protect your skin. It is has a rich, creamy consistency and so a lot goes a long way. It starts blending into your skin instantly and then you can hardly even tell it is there. It did make my skin slightly more even in tone and reduce the appearance of pores slightly. It gave my skin a great smooth texture that created a great base for any makeup I wore over it. It isn’t greasy, didn’t make me break out, didn’t leave a white cast, and didn’t feel heavy at all. It really is silky and weightless. I’m very impressed! Well done, Tatcha!

So what’s in it that makes it so awesome? It is formulated with Japanese Wild Rose (love that!), Loquat Leaf and silk extracts to reduce the appearance of pores, reduce shine, and leave skin looking brighter. I know they spent a lot of time perfecting this formulation and I think it has really paid off.

It is non-comedogenic, does not contain aminobenzoic acid, homosalate, oxybenzone or octinoxate. Its active Ingredients are Zinc Oxide 15% and Octisalate 5%. Formulated without: Mineral Oil, Synthetic Colors, Synthetic Fragrances, Sulfate Detergents, Parabens, PEGs, PPGs, Urea, DEA, TEA or Phthalates.

I just had to photograph it with a few of my handmade silk blossoms since it is called Silken! Love the pretty sky blue tube and the classic gold logo. They also sent me this pretty little paper fan. So cute. Brides, this would also be a fantastic sunscreen to wear under your makeup on your wedding day if you’re having an outdoor wedding! You could even include the travel-size tube and a pretty little fan like this in a gift bag for your bridesmaids…

I hope you found this quick review useful and I’d love to hear what you think of this sunscreen if you’ve tried it. Enjoy the sun! xo – Naomi

I also made a mistake of not using sunscreen while younger – i had very oily skin with acne and every sunscreen felt heavy and greasy on me. This sunscreen sounds very lovely 🙂

Tatcha sunscreen does contain mica…worried if it will cause breakouts on super sensitive skin like mine.

It hasn’t caused me to breakout at all. Mica isn’t typically an irritant for most people, but everyone is different and if you know that it has caused you irritation in the past you might want to avoid it. Or you could get the travel size first to test it out. It is one of the last ingredients on the list meaning there is very little of it in the formula. 🙂
