Palettes, palettes, palettes!!! Today I’m reviewing the three recently released 100% Pure palettes, each with a unique theme. Each one contains three eye shadows, one luminescent powder (highlighter), and one blush. There is Punk Princess, Mermaid, and Sex Kitten. Colored from 100% natural, antioxidant and vitamin packed fruit and vegetable pigments instead of synthetic dyes or minerals. Lets open em’ up!
Ooo! They’re so pretty! I love that the highlighter and blush in each one is a larger size, and I’m pretty happy with the color concepts they’ve come up with for these themes…however I have to say that the mermaid palette is probably my favorite because of those amazing green shadows, though I think as far as highlighter and blush goes, I like the ones from the sex kitten palette best.
Mermaid Palette shadows: Shell, Sea Glass, Starfish
The three powder eye shadows in the mermaid palette are SO gorgeous…those greens are just so captivating and not your everyday color. I have green eyes, so I especially love these. The formula is velvety, and these three all have a pearly finish to them. I’m obsessed with the shell color, a golden olive!
Mermaid Palette Siren luminescent powder and Coral blush.
These also both have a hint of pearly finish. Absolutely gorgeous. They both have a gold undertone in them, and look so luminescent. Though they are velvety smooth, and this goes for all the shadows, blush, and highlighters in these palettes, the product comes out of the pans easily when swatching with a finger, or loading a brush for example, and can cake up easily. So a little goes a long way, and then blend it out. I’d recommend using a primer with these.
Punk Princess palette shadows: Boyfriends Band, Private show, Unplugged
I absolutely love the first two here, but honestly never wear black eyeshadow…but if I did, this is a nice creamy one to smoke out and has little flecks of silver in it.
Punk Princess Acoustic luminescent powder and Sold Out blush.
The highlighter has a silvery/vanilla pearl tone to it, and the blush is a bold rosy pink.
Sex Kitten palette shadows: Risqué, Provocateur, Cat Eyes
I love this palette, though I admit I was surprised at 100% Pure’s bold choice of names for the palette and colors! Risqué is a stunning pearly champagne shadow, and Provocateur is a beautiful dusty mauve shade…I’ll be using these two a lot. Cat Eyes, is a gorgeous plum purple with flecks of silver. I’d probably wear this more if it didn’t have the flecks of silver, but overall, these three shades are indeed sexy together.
Sex Kitten Sexy luminescent powder and Allure blush
These are my favorite highlighter and blush of all three palettes. The highlighter has a gorgeous subtle candlelight glow with ever so slight hint of pink and the blush is a smooth peachy pink – and the most matte of all the blushes in these. These were also a bit smoother and didn’t cake on my fingers as much as others, and I think it might simply be because they were packed more firmly into their pans?
These are $48 each, and it says on their site that they come with 2 free brushes also (I didn’t get any as these were press samples, but that’s pretty cool!). They are of course cruelty-free, vegan, and paraben-free. Interesting to note that if you are familiar with their pretty naked palette, these are similar casing but about an inch longer and quarter inch wider than that one.
I hope you found this post useful, if you were thinking of purchasing one or all of these! xo – Naomi
