Happy summer solstice! Plus it is a full moon tonight too. I just read that there hasn’t been a full moon on the summer solstice in something like 70 years. How cool that we get to experience that in our lifetime! Today I have a perfect-for-summer product review for you – the new Tatcha Balanced Pore Perfecting Water Gel Moisturizer. Tatcha sent me a surprise with the product and a fun little watercolor card with a brush, paints and gold pen. They must know me well because I immediately sat down and set to blending colors!
I had so much fun getting in touch with my water spirit and painting these waves which I then outlined with the gold ink. A meditative way to celebrate their new water gel moisturizer. And the start of summer!
So what is a water gel moisturizer, anyway? It is sort of like a thick serum in consistency, but it isn’t quite like an oil serum. This is more milky than oily I’d say. It has a gorgeous light gold pearly sheen to it and in fact has a dusting of 23k gold in it. The formula also contains Japanese Wild Rose, Leopard Lily and Dokudami extracts to balance and clarify skin. I’ve been using it for about 10 days now (two pumps in the morning) and have to say it really does create a perfect canvas for any makeup you want to wear, or not wear. It leaves my skin super smooth and fresh.
This is supposed to be really good for oily skin and I have combination skin. I typically get oily in my T-zone. I found this formula does indeed help balance my skin and love how lightweight it feels. It feels so light I was afraid at first that it wasn’t going to provide enough moisture, but it does and I’ve really been enjoying it! Some days lately when it is really hot out, I just wear this and a lip gloss, no makeup. The gold in it helps liven up your skin but it doesn’t leave visible sparkles.
It is formulated without Parabens, Mineral Oil, Synthetic Colors, Synthetic Fragrances, Sulfate Detergents, Urea, DEA, TEA or Phthalates.
I couldn’t help pulling a few things from here and there that matched the gorgeous #waterlight aqua color of the bottle it comes in. Ahh, so pretty! As always, Tatcha’s packaging is very high quality. I’ve also been using their Camellia Cleansing Oil a lot again and it is a great combination for keeping my skin calm and happy lately! They’ve created a whole skincare ritual for oily skin if you’re interested.
If you’re looking for a really lightweight summer moisturizer and you are prone to oily skin I’d highly recommend this! xo – Naomi
P.S. Tatcha if you’re reading this, my cats LOVE the box you sent this in and have made it their new bed. They use it daily! #Tatchakitty*DisclaimerThis post includes pr samples.
